Recently a VIMEO video channel has been established to promote the CASCADE project using various short video's. A first series of five videos have been produced by Jane Brandt (MEDES) and Erik van den Elsen (ALTERRA), to explain why drylands are important, what the threat for drylands is and what the CASCADE project is doing to counter these threats by research.
Five scientists working in the project try to explain in a few minutes what they are specifically investigating in the project, and what the relation between people, environment, climate and dryland ecosystems are.
The current series of five video's are also hosted on the website dedicated to knowledge dissemination for the CASCADE project: www.cascadis-project.eu, and is the beginning of a larger series of video's. In these new video's we will follow the course of the project and will also go into research a bit deeper, by interviewing more scientists working on this important subject.
The video channel, containing the five video's can be viewed at: https://vimeo.com/channels/drylandshifts
